How to NOT Get Banned (and Why)
What it is: Bungie rarely bans for lag-induced damage, but they will act if you make it obvious. This section keeps you off the radar.
- Never stream/record with limiter overlays visible.
- Don’t chase world-firsts with impossible clears (solo Oryx, duo Rhulk, etc.).
- When a new lobby-crash or freeze exploit drops, let someone else test it 500 times—you stay quiet.
- Avoid typing “limit”, “NL”, “3074” in in-game chat or whispers—Bungie can keyword-search logs if they ever care.
- Expect NL4/NL5 byte-patch bypasses to be detected in The Final Shape; stick to mainstream builds or you’ll be the guinea pig.
Ports & What They Actually Control
Quick primer: NetLimiter lets you choke specific Destiny traffic. Each port below handles a different slice of the game. Choke the right one and the server believes your client, but not vice-versa.
- 3074 (DL or UL 1 B/s)
– Damage to enemies, door triggers, wipe-mechanic packets.
– DL = immortal enemies / infinite DPS.
– UL = stops you receiving health updates (prevents de-sync on some bosses).
Hold too long → Spinach (DL) or Arugula (UL) error. - 30000-30009 “30 k” (DL 1 B/s)
– Game-world connection. Blocks “Joining Allies” and lets you walk through load-zones solo.
~12 s = Anteater/Baboon kick. - 27015-27200 “27 k” (DL 1 B/s)
– Player-to-player link. Revive tokens, rally flags, True-Host drops.
Not host + long hold = Beaver error. - 7500 “API port” (DL 1 B/s)
– Backend inventory / reward calls. Was used for infinite rally flags and gun-damage swaps.
PATCHED – 3 s desync still works for flags, but no loot loops. - 433 (DL 1 B/s)
– Matchmaking only. Blocks solo-queue activities (alt to 27 k).
Limiting Damage – Step-by-Step
Goal: Keep shooting while the boss can’t register the hits, then force the game to accept all the stored damage at once.
- Stick a Damage-over-Time source FIRST
Chaos Reach (tap), Thundercrash (impact + lightning), Witherhoard, Osteo, Anarchy, Jolt, Burn, etc. - Immediately limit port 3074 DL 1 B/s.
You’ll see immune numbers—this is expected. - Keep the DoT running; add other guns if you like.
Surrounded perk = free 40 % buff even in limit. - Coordinate buffers every 10 s (NL5) or 15 s (NL4) so no one de-syncs.
- Call “UNLIMIT” together.
Everyone stops the limit, then fires an SMG / trace rifle to “register” the stored damage.
Raid Cheatsheet (when it works, what port)
- Last Wish
Kalli – glitchy HP, use 3074 DL, buffer often.
Shuro Chi – tiny gates, not worth it.
Riven – infinite 3074 DL; MUST shoot body after un-limit or final-stand immune wipes you. - Vault of Glass
Templar – infinite; relic super pop with flag relocate trick.
Atheon – infinite 3074 DL; oracles can be shot in limit then all break at once. - Deep Stone Crypt
Atraks – works until body disappears.
Taniks – pre-damage OK (upload), normal infinite (download).
Descent cores – 30 k kill + hold core deletes it, bugs suppressor. - Vow of the Disciple
Caretaker – pre only (kill yourself while ticking).
Rhulk – infinite until final stand; upload live-updates for limiter. - Kings Fall
Warpriest – pre-damage OK.
Golgoroth – MUST be in pool while limit hits.
Oryx – infinite; no brand on final stand—don’t detonate bombs until phase ends. - Root of Nightmares
Nezarec – infinite 3074 UL or DL; upload shows live health. - Crota’s End
Sword 8-hit (5 with Tractor) sends to damage; oversoul still wipes if not shot.
All Dungeons – Limits, Skips, Tricks
Shattered Throne
- Vorgeth – Infinite 3074 DL; low HP pool, melt away.
- Dul Incaru – You can limit, but she dies so fast it’s rarely worth the setup.
Prophecy
- Phalanx Echo – Infinite limit, but goblins grant immunity outside of limit; kill them first.
- Kell Echo – Infinite 3074 upload mandatory; body is out-of-map, so register with an SMG/Trace on un-limit. Horseman registers poorly here.
Pit of Heresy
- Zulmak – Pre-damage OK (kill yourself while ticking). Normal infinite after that; use upload so you see live HP.
Grasp of Avarice
- Burdened by Riches dupe
3074 DL before you touch the crystal; you keep the buff and can dunk again.
Timings: Ogre riches 20 s, Shield riches 10 s, Avarokk riches 35 s. - Trigger-rich skip
Limit 3074 and pick up the “trigger” rich that normally explodes; hold ~1:10 if you don’t want more. - Captain Avarokk – Infinite 3074 DL; register on un-limit.
Duality
- Gahlran – Infinite limit; if he doesn’t die before timer ends you trade deaths when limit stops.
- Caiatl – Basically useless without bell buff; with buff you get 11 s of good damage.
Spire of the Watcher
- Arctrician nodes
Full-Game limit (or 3074 DL) lets you shoot nodes without ads. Keep Arctrician buff or nodes reset. - Akelous – Infinite; register damage after un-limit.
- 2→3 transition skip
30 k kill + 3074 DL lets you drop straight to red room; teammate must hit first CP at top. - Persys – Infinite 3074 DL; register on un-limit.
Ghosts of the Deep
- Ecthar & Simmumah – Both infinite; download + register.
Warlord’s Ruin
- 1→2 transition
30 k kill + 3074 through door; skate back to cave end to hit checkpoint. - Locus of Wailing Grief – 3074 DL works but loops fast; Horseman OK.
- 2→3 skip
30 k + 3074 through door OR limit into chest load-zone, place stasis crystals to death-spawn. - Hefnd’s Vengeance – Infinite until immune after a few seconds; kill yourself to continue (like Caretaker).
Horseman / 7500 Weapon-Swap Damage
What it does: Copy a high-damage gun’s stats onto another weapon (e.g., slug shotgun → 4th Horseman) for one monster shot.
- Hold your “main” gun (the one you’ll keep, e.g., 4th Horseman).
- Limit port 7500 DL 1 B/s, wait 3 s (you’ll see activity drop to almost zero).
- Swap to “multiplier” gun (slug, fusion, etc.).
- Register the swap: tap text-chat, Divinity bubble, or inventory back-and-forth.
Best combos: Duality→slug, Scatter Signal→Arbalest, HC→Bow (PvP 2-tap).
Patched – servers no longer accept the damage packet on most bosses; use only for fun in patrol.
Buffering & Desync Explained
Buffering = mini re-connect. You un-limit for ~0.5 s then re-limit. This stops the server from thinking you hard-DC.
- NL5 → buffer every 10 s.
- Vision / NL4 → every 15 s.
- Watch NetLimiter “Activity” pane; buffer when rate hits 0 B/s.
Desync = your instance is too far behind. You’ll stop seeing enemy moves, then get Arugula / Beaver / Weasel. Only fixes: change character or restart the game.
Pre-Damage (Hit Immune Bosses Early)
Use case: Kill a boss before its intended damage window (e.g., Caretaker, Zulmak, Warpriest).
- Start any DoT on the immune boss.
- Limit 3074 DL until you see “Immune” numbers ticking.
- Kill yourself while still in limit (white-bar HP or revive token).
- Wait; immune ticks turn into white numbers → damage is stored.
- Get revived, un-limit, shoot boss once to register.
Misc. Tricks & Quality-of-Life
- Rally Banner relocate
Hold flag prompt → limit 3074 → walk to new spot → un-limit → banner plants there (instant relic super at Templar). - Infinite rally flags
7500 DL 3 s desync → grab flag → repeat 30-45 s. No extra loot, but free heavy/super refill. - Dupe revive tokens
Limit 27k → revive friend → wait 5 s → un-limit. Works for multiple revives in one go. - Game-Pause (suspend Destiny 2)
Freezes memory; skip Joining Allies or stall radiation. Hold F4 (Auto-hot-key script) or use “Process Suspend” in NetLimiter. Bee error if >7 s.
